Why do I blog?

I saw this post on another blog and wanted to post it here with my answers, so you can see a little bit about why I blog. Feel free to copy this and tell your own blogging story :)


1. When did you start blogging and why? 

Well I´ve been blogging on and off since 2005. I created a blog at first as an assignment when I was in college. But I found out that I really enjoy writing so I didn´t stop when the class was over.

2. How many people in real life know about your blog?
Most of my friends and family probably. I don´t advertise it that much though, only on my facebook page and recently on my instagram. It´t not a secret at all, but sometimes I feel like maybe other people won´t find it that interesting, and maybe my photos and post are not quality material like some other blogs I read.

3. What are your favourite posts to read?
I would say personal- and vacation posts. I love to read about people´s trips to here and there with lots and lots of photos!!


4. List a blog you've recently discovered. 
"I wore yoga pants to work“. Blog by Whitney Eller, absolutely love her posts!


5. What post are you most proud of? 
Hmmm I´m not sure. I do put a lot of work into some posts on my blog, like these recents posts on my top 10 fitness inspirations and about my roadtriparound Iceland this summer. But I am mostly proud of how long I´ve been blogging and how I can go back in time to read what I was doing in different periods of my life. I was blogging when I was in college and lived at a college campus in the country, I was blogging when I went for one sementer as an exchange student in Prague and I was blogging when I lost my job and struggled with finding a new one. So I can basically go back in time on my blog J

6. What advice would you give to future bloggers?
Do it because you want to! Don´t listen to judgy people about how lame it is, or whatever. If you want to blog, you should do it!

1. What is one item you wish you could splurge on right now?

I would love a new laptop…mine is getting kind of slow L

 

2. If you had an entire weekend of no plans what would you do?

I would stay in with my daughter (alone if she wasn´t home) and watch Friends, Sex and the City and girly movies all weekend! Order some pizza and eat loads of candy J

 

3. What is the next place you are visiting outside of your current city?

Current city? Well it takes me 2 minutes to drive from Kópavogur where I live, to Reykjavík, where I work LOL, so I´ll just answer which city outside of my country I am visiting next!:

I am planning a New York trip next April/May!!! Sooo excited!

 

4. Are you a neat freak or a clutterbug?

Neat freak, no doubt about it!

 

5. What is your favorite summer purchase?

I have three things I bought this summer that I just cannot choose from! Jeans, black and white jacket and a pair of boots J

Very late Sunday Social

I missed last Sunday Social because I was away on holiday, so I´m just going to answer the questions without linking them up on Ashley´s blog. That should be ok :)


1. Gum or mints?

Little bit of both…but gum is necessary for me when dieting for a competition, helps me from cheating lol


2. Tea or Coffee?

Neither. Amino energy for me please!


3. Fruits or Veggies?

Fruits all the way!!! 1 apple a day keeps the doctors away J


4. TV or Movies?

Duuuhhh TV of course!! Sci-fi, comedy, drama, horror, romantic…any kind of TV really


5. Candles or Diffusers?

Candles! They are so cozy during the long Icelandic winters.


Tomorrow morning I am travelling with my family to the east side of Iceland and we will be staying at a summer house for a few days. According to the weather forecast it´s going to be raining there the whole time….so I´m guessing tanning and bbq is off the table….looks like baking and TV weekend instead! Well, we´ll see :) I´m bringing my computer with me, so I´ll keep you posted

I was reading blogs this morning, as I find very relaxing to do on sunday mornings and I came across Ashley´s blog Ashley´s Lately.  She posts a few questions on Sundays (for 112 weeks it seems) and other bloggers who want to meet new blogger friends can participate by answering the questions in a new post and then link up on her site. Thank you Ashley for this great social idea :) 

Here are my answers: 

1. Three Favorite songs right now: Chandelier with Sia, All about the bass with Meghan Trainor and The Big Bang with Katy Tiz.

2. Three Favorite movies that remind you of Summer: Couples Retreat, My girl and 10 things I hate about you.

I fell in love with Heath Ledger in this movie!

3. Three Favorite articles of clothing you own: My black skinny jeans from Only, my heels from Macy´s and my workout leggings which are designed and made by a Icelandic girl and have no brand on them!

4. Three Items on your wish list: Nike Free´s training shoes, bluetooth headphones for the gym and a fitness meal bag for work :) 

5. Three Books you would recommend to someone: Not much of a book reader, but I would recommend that everybody read My sisters keeper and Ísfólkið by Margit Sandemo (it´s a book series with 47 books). I´m not sure if those are out in english though....they are originally from Sweden, but have been translated to a few languages (f.ex. Icelandic).

Blogmopolitian Quiz

I was reading this blog today and really wanted to participate in this "game". So I uploaded the quiz and then opened in Paint to put in my answers and now I´m posting it here on my blog, so tomorrow I will send Erin the link to this post to be featured on her blog.

I love this kind of social communication through the blog world. Getting to know people from all over the world who also have a love for blogging is so much fun, even though it´s just online :)
